Volunteers Working in Spiritual Communities for Prevention
The purpose of this training is to help participants learn about substance
abuse prevention so as to make changes within their own faith communities
and the larger community. The course perspective is sufficiently broad
that each community can assess its own needs and create a response to them.
The key concept of the course is effecting social change.
Participants learn about principles of prevention and the theory of
change, examine issues of diversity; and design effective methods of collaboration.
