Facilitation Skills Development Process (FSDP)
This course is for State-level preventionists but can be adapted for other
audiences. The process includes meetings to establish goals and select
participants, prework to draft learning plans, and a 3-day onsite event.
Then participants practice new skills for 6 weeks; return for a 2-day onsite
session to share experiences, revise learning plans, and set up a learning
network; and attend a 1-day meeting to determine next steps.
The objectives are: (1) improve communication in State prevention systems;
(2) share ideas for implementing comprehensive State prevention systems;
(3) identify needs and assess causes of ATOD problems in communities; (4)
develop action plans; and (5) work as teams, organizations, and systems
at the local, regional, State, and national levels.
