Hispanic Latino Leadership Institute (HLI)
This 4-day Institute is for Hispanic/Latino prevention providers working
with volunteers, community residents, leaders, and advocates. The HLI is
designed to enable members of the Hispanic/Latino community to play an
effective role in substance abuse prevention at the local, State, and national
levels.
Learning Objectives
The objective is to create a community that:

recognizes the devastating effect of substance abuse on individuals and
on society and commits to prevention at the community level and beyond;

understands current concepts of prevention practice and research;

maintains its cultural identity and recognizes how it strengthens prevention
work; and
-
provides leadership and representation for Hispanic/Latino communities
in prevention programs.
