Principles for Prevention Partnerships, Part 2: Valuing Cultural Diversity
This 1-day workshop for community leaders, prevention advocates, and community
partnership members considers ways to explore and appreciate our differences.
Participants discuss their differences and come together as a community
with a new appreciation of themselves and others. This experiential workshop
helps participants understand and apply the concepts needed for the inclusion
of the total community in prevention efforts.
The objectives are:
(1) explore the effects of cultural issues on community prevention efforts;
(2) understand appropriate and inappropriate behavior in culturally
diverse situations; and
(3) define key elements of an organization that values and effectively
works with cultural differences.
