Leadership Styles

This workshop is for leaders and managers of community prevention efforts interested in enhancing their leadership skills. It rests on the premise that a community's ability to successfully coordinate and include various groups in its prevention efforts depends on skilled leadership. The workshop uses the concepts of empowerment, inclusion, and cultural diversity to tailor the leadership concepts presented. It also identifies effective leadership styles and roles.

Learning Objectives

The objectives are:
 
  1. identify your preferred leadership style

  3. describe the Situational Leadership Model and understand how it is used

  5. define areas in which your leadership skills are strong and areas for enhancement

  7. explain the roles leaders should play in an organizational setting and tailor leadership theory to what is needed in comprehensive community prevention efforts
