Governance and Organizational Structure

This workshop is for individuals interested in designing new organizational structures or revising existing ones to promote community empowerment and inclusion. This workshop introduces participants to governance philosophies, practices, and operating structures that facilitate community empowerment and organizational success.
 

Learning Objectives

The objectives are:
 
  1. understand the differences between an inclusive and an exclusive governance philosophy;

  2. communicate the importance of effective organizational governance practices that foster participation and inclusiveness;

  3. identify successful governance structures and adapt them to their organizations; and

  4. describe the appropriate roles and responsibilities of the governing body and the staff.
